Items prohibited and restricted through Uber Direct
Items prohibited on the Uber platform
Please understand there are certain items that you’re unable to sell or deliver through Uber’s logistics platform, which includes orders making use of Uber Eats, Postmates, Uber Direct, and Uber Connect. Unless specifically allowed in your agreement, prohibited items include:

Nicotine and tobacco, including vaping products, chewing tobacco, rolling papers, and hookahs
Medical equipment and devices that require a prescription
Nutritional hemp and CBD (any form)
Cannabis, cannabis derivatives, or by-products, and cannabis accessories
Catering menus/catering items
Delta-8 goods
Drug paraphernalia
Herbal controlled substances, such as kava and kratom
Weapons
Shark fin soup
Fireworks
Firearms
Fire starters
Hazardous materials
Live animals
Pipe screens
Regulated foods
Pornography
Adult toys and content
Endangered species
Lottery tickets
People (in relation to human trafficking, organ trafficking, or sex trafficking)
Drugs, narcotics, or controlled substances
Embargoed or recalled goods
Explosives
Government IDs and licenses
Illegally replicated, reproduced, or manufactured items
Stolen property and property with removed serial numbers
Law enforcement items
Automotive airbags
Damaged or defective items
Donations, tips, and so on, to merchants or essential workers
Electronic surveillance equipment
Flammable and combustible substances and products
Gift cards, gift certificates, and other stored-value instruments
Intangible items
Items encouraging illegal activity or used to incite violence
Lockpicking and theft devices
Materials deemed as offensive
Nitrous oxide products, such as whip cream chargers
Items restricted for package delivery through Uber Direct
Restricted items for package delivery include those subject to regulatory requirements, safety standards, or delivery restrictions by Uber. Delivering these items through Uber Direct requires Uber’s approval. Upon request, Uber will inform you of the relevant restrictions. Items that may be restricted for delivery through Uber Direct include:

Medical equipment
Pharmacy items
Behind-the-counter (BTC) medications containing certain specified ingredients such as Phenylpropanolamine, Ephedrine (EPH), Pseudoephedrine (PSE), Norpseudoephedrine (NPSE), or Phenylpropanolamine
Over-the-counter (OTC) medications containing certain specified ingredients such as Dextromethorphan
Prescription medication
Temperature-sensitive drugs and/or cold chain drugs
These lists aren’t exhaustive. Uber retains the discretion to prohibit or restrict additional items that aren’t listed here.

Packages must follow the criteria below to be eligible for delivery on the platform:

Must not contain any prohibited items
Maximum weight of 50 pounds per package, box, or parcel
Must fit comfortably into a standard mid-size vehicle
Should be closed, securely sealed, and ready for transport
